Pilgrim Music Newcastle CIC

Pilgrim Music Newcastle CIC exists to provide opportunities within, and access to, live music in the North East, a region that has amongst the lowest engagement with live music in the UK.

The CIC provides a professional-grade platform, technical support, and marketing exposure for unsigned and independent, local and touring, musicians and DJs at all stages of their careers. We provide a rehearsal and performance space, organise outreach and education programmes and facilitate musical collaboration.

Pilgrim Music Newcastle CIC believes that music in all its forms is to be celebrated but we are primarily concerned with promoting musical genres that are traditionally underrepresented in Newcastle and the North East. Building on an established foundation of promoting music of black origin, the CIC continues to strengthen its support for soul, funk, RnB, hip-hop and disco as well as building further support for genres such as grime, afrobeats, nu-Jazz, neo-Soul, blues, reggae, latin, bluegrass and roots music of all kinds.

In addition to supporting artists, the CIC will provide opportunities for young people who want to develop skills, experience and possibly careers in the live music industry across roles such as sound engineering, lighting, artist promotion, marketing and business administration. All young people deserve support in finding a career that suits their interests and passion but we are particularly focussed on those not in employment, education or training or from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Pilgrim Music Newcastle CIC takes an open, partnership-led approach. We collaborate with a number of other not-for-profit and charitable organisations including Northern Roots; NEMO (North East Music Opportunities CIC); Generator NE; Nrthrn Baby; Newcastle and Gateshead Colleges; and Newcastle and Northumbria Universities.
